Meet Our Team

Jennifer Wood

Jennifer is a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers and WSET Level 3 graduate with Merit, currently pursuing her WSET Diploma.

After a distinguished 25+ year legal career, Jen transitioned to the wine world in 2017, captivated by wine's unique power to transport us through story. She believes that every bottle offers armchair wine travel—taking us to sun-drenched vineyards in Tuscany, misty hillsides in Burgundy, or family cellars passed down through generations.

It's these stories that transform wine from simply a beverage into community, connecting us to places we've never been and people we've never met.

Her legal background brings analytical precision to wine selection and consultation, while her natural enthusiasm makes even the most complex topics accessible. Jennifer focuses on the narratives that make each wine special—because understanding the story behind the wine deepens every sip and creates meaningful connections among those who share it.

While her favorite wine is usually whatever's in her glass at the moment, Champagne will always hold a special place in her heart for its ability to turn any occasion into something extraordinary.

Greg Hughes

Greg is a gentle wine hobbit, from Ottawa, Ontario. His fascination with wine and history has guided his education through university and beyond. Along with WSET3, FWS, IWS, SWS, WCO, and Champagne Master Level wine courses, Greg has studied local history as well as Soviet propaganda around drinking culture and art.

He brings a wealth of experience from within the Ontario wine industry and from traveling abroad. He has worked at the LCBO, local wineries, as a journalist, and within the hospitality industry since 2008.

Johann Wong

Johann Wong was a studying filmmaker before he decided to enter the world of wine, driven to learn everything that goes into the glass.

Ontario wines hold a special place in his wine collection, but he also has a deep passion for the wines of Portugal. Johann has his WSET Level 3 with Distinction and works at Eataly as a Retail Sales Associate.

Giovanni Zapata

With over two decades in hospitality, Giovanni Zapata brings expertise, creativity, and warmth to his role as Wine Sales Representative for Corkscrew Imports. A humble host turned wine devotee, Giovanni is a certified sommelier through both the Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS) and the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers (CAPS).

His passion for all things liquid was shaped by years leading cocktail and wine programs in some of Canada’s most distinguished establishments, and his focus was always on crafting guest experiences that felt like art on a living canvas. Outside the dining room, he fuels his curiosity as a car enthusiast, channeling the same precision and drive into the tuning scene that he brings to every pour.

Fil Marsala

Fil Marsala is an oenologist with over 30 years of experience in wine production, importation, and education. His career blends technical expertise — anchored by a Master’s degree in Industrial Microbiology — with a deep commitment to the culture of wine. He holds numerous industry accreditations, chief among them the WSET Diploma and the Vinitaly International Academy Italian Wine Ambassador certification.

Drawing on his Sicilian heritage, Fil approaches wine as both science and story: a product of soil, climate, and human craft. At Corkscrew Imports, he specializes in LCBO and AGCO compliance, strategic brand development, and building strong HoReCa partnerships. His focus is on championing producers who combine authenticity with quality, and on connecting their wines with Ontario’s diverse hospitality sector.

Misha von Shlezinger is a Toronto-based hospitality creative and George Brown College Food & Beverage Management alumna, holding WSET 2 and currently pursuing WSET 3. She has developed a wine-adjacent career photographing and storytelling for wineries, restaurants, and tourism projects, including work on Georgian winemaking featured in the Toronto Star. Misha brings a blend of visual storytelling, formal wine education, and real-world restaurant experience to her work with wine clients.

Lindsay Reinholt is a passionate hospitality & beverage professional with distinguished beer, wine, mixology & pairing expertise.  She achieved her WSET Level 3 certification whilst studying Advanced Wine & Beverage Business Management at George Brown.  After 10 years working as a server & bartender in Toronto, she is now based in London, Ontario, and works as a beverage manager for a local golf course along with representing Corkscrew Imports in the London area. 

Lindsay prides herself on being a skilled educator & trainer in the industry.  She loves writing clever & insightful wine & beer reviews and hosting fun & educational wine tasting & pairing events in her free time.  Having worked for 12 years in the restaurant industry and another 10 years in various customer service-focused roles, she also values teamwork, collaboration and finding solutions that benefit the business, supplier and customer simultaneously.

Although she loves wines from all over the world, she is most enthusiastic about Italian reds made with Nebbiolo, mineral-forward coastal whites & anything from Tuscany.
