While living in Buffalo, in Jen's early 20’s, her first bit of real wine education came from the manager of her local liquor store. He refused to let her buy the same sweet "white" zinfandel week after week. He would open bottles freely, they would sit in the back of the store and discuss why she liked or didn’t like a particular bottle. He explained terroir, vintage variation and what to expect from a bottle. She called it “playing in the sandbox” because it reminded her of the joy a child gets from playing with their favorite toys in a sandbox.

Jen moved deeper into the wine world in 2017 after a 20+ year career working in the legal field, because let’s face it, wine is more fun to talk about! She's a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS) and has passed her WSET Level 3 with Merit.  She's currently a WSET Diploma student and works with the Académie Du Vin wine school in Toronto, teaching wine appreciation courses and with Fine Vintage wine school as a teaching assistant.

Following a varied career in office administration, events and public relations for performing arts organizations and architectural firms, Lynn finally put her Bachelor of Arts in Geography/Environmental Studies to good use by following her "appreciation" of wine and spirits to more formal learning. After successfully completing her Wine Specialist Certificate from George Brown College, Lynn earned her sommelier certificates from the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers (CAPS) and the Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS) as well as her WSET Level 3.

Lynn’s the current president of the Ontario chapter of CAPS and Secretary to the National Board. She works as a teacher assistant and pourer with Fine Vintage Ltd. and other Ontario agencies. She was a co-producer of CAPS Ontario’s 2019 Best Ontario Sommelier Competition (BOSC).  Lynn's active within the wine community. She and her husband split their time between homes in Toronto and Picton, Prince Edward County.
