The wine encapsulates the principal features of a “classic” Radda sub-region Chianti Classico, in the best sense of the term: fresh, harmonious fruit of black cherries, wild berries, violets and juniper – bright ruby red colour, good concentrated texture, lovely acidity and, above all, an elegant and extremely delicious flavour. Chianti-grown Sangiovese grapes at their best. The years of bottle-ageing mature the wine further. Serve at a moderate 16°-18°C.
After a hot summer with very little water, the rains came heavy at harvest time, causing us much concern. A difficult harvest with many selection steps. With experience and a little luck, we managed to ripen the best grapes to the end. Beautiful, healthy grapes with thick skins and less juice. A very elegant vine. Lively ruby-red colored. An elegant bouquet of blood orange, wild blackberry, cardamom and a delicate note of eucalyptus. Vigorous freshness on the palate, with tannins and lip-smacking fruitiness that ends with a savory sensation.

"The estate owned by Roberto Bianchi is not only one of the most intriguing wineries in Chianti Classico, but is also one of the most convincing wineries in the Radda in Chianti sub-area. The wines have an unmistakable style: clear, essential and without hesitation. It is difficult to find an interpretation of Sangiovese so consistent and capable of projecting with such force this range of the Black Rooster among the most significant places in Enoic Italy. They are red of great pleasure but, at the same time, of articulated and never banal declination, even in the most immediate expressions."
