Malmont translates to Bad Mountain in English. The reason being that nothing grew there. Well, Nicolas Heani realized that with a bit of sweat equity it was a marvellous place to grow fabulous grapes. Southern exposure, 300m above sea level - perfect for ripening his Syrah and Grenache.
The proof is in the wine - luscious, delectable, drink now, hold for a couple of years - this wine is absolutely stunning.
The vineyard has always been hand harvested and grown organically / biodynamically. But as of next year, the proof will be on the label with the official Organic seal. The next step will be to transition to official Demetre status.
